TEST. DON'T GUESS.

Test. Don’t guess.

Do you know your fatty-acid balance?

An at-home blood test shows your omega-6:3 balance, Omega-3 Index and other fatty-acid markers.

The gap

Taking omega-3 is not the same as knowing.

Many of us take a supplement, eat fish now and then, and assume it adds up. Maybe it does. But a dose is an input. Your blood shows the outcome.

Diet, habits and the amount you actually take all play a part. Without a measurement, you can’t tell whether what you do is changing anything.

Three steps

From one drop to a clear picture

  1. Test at home

A finger prick and a few drops on a filter card. About ten minutes at your kitchen table.

  2. Send your sample

The dried card goes in the prepaid envelope. An independent lab analyses it.

  3. See and understand your results

You get your report in the results portal. We help you read it and decide what to do next.

What the results contain

A few numbers that actually tell you something

A fatty-acid report is short. These are the values most people look at first.

Omega-6:3 balance
How much omega-6 you have relative to omega-3. It reflects the overall balance of fats you eat.
Omega-3 Index
EPA and DHA as a share of the fatty acids in your red blood cells, given as a percentage.
Other fatty-acid markers
The wider profile: which fatty acids make up your sample, and how they compare with reference ranges.

The method

Test → Understand → Personalize → Retest

  1. Test

Establish a baseline instead of assuming one.

  2. Understand

Learn what the numbers mean, and what they don’t.

  3. Personalize

Build a plan around your food, your routines and your life.

  4. Retest

Measure again, usually after about 120 days, to see if it worked.

Being clear about it

Where the test comes from, and how we earn money

The tests in our programs are ordered through Zinzino, where we are an independent partner. When you buy a program, we order the included tests in your name, on your own customer account.

Coaching is our own business. You don’t have to buy supplements to work with us, and nothing on this site tells you that you need a product.

Trust

What a test can and can’t tell you

It measures, it doesn’t diagnose

A fatty-acid test describes your current balance. It doesn’t say whether you are ill, and we never suggest it does.

The science has open questions

Researchers debate how much weight to put on single markers like the ratio. We tell you where the debate is.

No titles, no shortcuts

We are nutrition coaches, not health personnel. If a value is outside the lab’s range, we refer you to your GP.

Questions

What people usually ask first

What does a fatty-acid test measure?

The test analyses the fatty-acid make-up of a dried blood drop. The report shows, among other things, your omega-6:3 balance, your Omega-3 Index and other fatty-acid markers. It reflects your intake over recent months. It does not tell you whether you are ill or healthy.

Is it hard to take the sample yourself?

Most people need five to ten minutes. You prick your finger with a single-use lancet, let a few drops fall onto a filter card, let it dry and post it. We have a step-by-step guide.

How long until I get my results?

The lab usually needs a few weeks from when the sample arrives. You are told when your results are ready and view them in your own results portal.

Is this a medical test or a diagnosis?

No. The test gives you information about your fatty-acid balance, which we use in nutrition coaching. It does not diagnose anything. If you have health concerns, or a value is outside the lab’s reference range, talk to your GP.
